Dore Community Transport is one of the seven schemes in Herefordshire, all of which are charities, run on a shoestring and use a small army of volunteer drivers. Users are of all ages and abilities with one thing in common, they are without transport or access to public transport, and cannot get to, for example doctors, hospitals, social events, shops or learning facilities, the list is endless. Some community transport schemes use minibuses, some use owner driven cars, and some specialised vehicles. The one thing they have in common is they rely on volunteers to man the schemes. Could You Become a Volunteer Driver ? You could find volunteer driving a rewarding and unusual hobby. It will give you a chance to meet people and get out and about at no cost to yourself.
